Rewarding, full-time opportunity for an FRCPC eligible Psychiatrist (Adult and Child/Youth) to work in a balanced inpatient Consult Liaison/outpatient/Mental health Team setting affiliated with the UBC Dept of Psychiatry. Richmond is a diverse ‘young’ city thriving with families in all stages of life. p>Richmond Early Childhood Mental Health Program (RECMHP) is located in the Child Health Centre of Richmond Hospital. It is co-located with Pediatrics and Maternity. RECMHP is a community-based public mental health service for children 0 to 6 years of age with significant emotional and/or behavioural problems.The Richmond School Program is located on Blundell Road behind Blundell Elementary School in Richmond. Assessments and evidence-informed treatments are provided to children in conjunction with their families as well as school-based personnel.The Richmond Child and Youth Program is located in a community clinic within walking distance to Richmond Hospital. The Richmond Child and Youth Program is a community-based public mental health service for children 5 to 18 years of age with significant emotional and/or behavioural problems. The Richmond Child and Adolescent Program (CAP) is comprised of 3 units: a child and youth outpatient mental health service, integrated youth outreach, and Richmond School Program.As a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will: Report to the Medical Lead for Infant, Child & Youth and the Head and Medical Director, Department of Psychiatry, Richmond Mental Health & Substance Use Services.Have a strong knowledge base in medication management and psychotherapeutic modalities.Be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new programs and will participate in the training and education of medical students, residents and other allied health professionals.Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Provisional Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Eligible Strong community collaborative skills must be demonstrated.A good knowledge of child relational/developmental/psycho therapeutic theory and practice is essential.Collaboration with other community service providers is essential.A demonstrated ability working as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health team.A commitment to participate in new methods in health improvement and care delivery.WHY JOIN VANCOUVER COASTAL HEALTH?VCH is a world class innovator in medical care, research and teaching, delivering service to more than one million BC residents.
