In return, we promise to provide support, opportunities and performance-led financial rewards at a workplace where you can shape the future, win as a team and grow with us.***About the role**We’re looking for an Underwriter I, Commercial Lines, to join our growing team**12 months secondment.****What you'll do here:*** Participate In broker visits, Insurance Industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.* Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.* Make recommendations to improve the department processes and increase efficiency.* Analyze requests for quotes and recommend innovative solutions* Focus on building relationships while underwriting and rating policies* Provides technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members* Assess, evaluate and negotiate on moderate to complex risks.**What you bring to the table:*** Experience in commercial lines or any other relevant experience* Very strong sales and customer service skills* Completion of or progress toward a CIP designation is an asset* Maintain an expert and current understanding of all relevant Commercial Underwriting Guides and instructions related thereto* Demonstrate the ability to handle complex risks* Awareness of local community conditions and insurance issues* Strong negotiating skills and business savvy* Initiative and ability to work under pressure* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer tools.* No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.**What we offer**Our hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.Working here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
