Senior CAO Governance Risk Manager

Overview The Governance Risk Analyst role is within the CAO Business Strategy Execution risk group responsible for accomplishing results through the coordination of governance, regulatory affairs and engagement activities with the BIR Segments, Portfolio Management and Business execution teams. The team drives the overall BIR Governance Strategy Execution activities, including managing or addressing regulatory/internal audit issues, structuring processes supporting governance, regulatory affairs for the BIR organization, supporting portfolio management requirements, and driving project management activities. This role provides visibility and cross-functional experience within Risk Management and across Products and Functions, with significant interaction with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies in relation to risk management practices and involvement in strategic projects. Responsibilities Coordinate and support delivery of governance committees and regulatory requirements for BIR exams, governance/non-governance committees, regulatory meetings and communications; review and/or prep meetings. Interact with senior management daily and participate in governance forums and external stakeholder meetings as necessary. Cooperate with global teams of governance, portfolio management, industry and sector SMEs, regulatory affairs, and CAO; stay on top of emerging risks, governance and regulatory requirements; lead projects in enhancement and remediation areas. Ensure consistent agenda and content presented to governance committees and stakeholders across BIR adhere to Governance Policy and Regulatory Reporting requirements; build and maintain a governance framework across the BIR; ensure Wholesale Credit Risk Committee remains effective and high quality. Ensure strong oversight and standardization across governance forums and adherence to policy and framework requirements. Establish the schedule of Governance Committee meetings and activities: facilitate agenda setting, prepare minutes, coordinate materials, distribute them, draft minutes, obtain approval, maintain documentation, track attendance, and manage action items, escalations and follow-ups. Coordinate with internal and external engagement supporting the Banking & International Risk CRO and Organization regarding the Governance Framework. Support other BIR CAO areas such as portfolio management and business strategy as needed. Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, upholding the firm's reputation and safeguarding clients and assets, driving compliance with laws and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying ethical judgment, escalating and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications 6-10 years of experience in a financial services role. Experience in a similar firm, working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders. Strong knowledge of wholesale credit risk, including counterparty risk and leverage finance. Experience coordinating governance committees, regulatory requirements and materials for senior stakeholders. Ability to work in a diverse, high-pressure, time-sensitive environment and in a team with diverse skill sets and cultures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Master’s degree preferred This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
