St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic School Division is seeking a visionary leader, willing to work as a valued member of the administrative team, to fill the position of Principal at Mother d'Youville School in Beaumont, Alberta commencing in the 2024-25 school year.

École Mother d'Youville School is a dual track, English and French Immersion program, for Beaumont and area students in grades 5 to 9 with a student population of 370. As one of STAR Catholic's newer buildings, École Mother d'Youville School opened its doors in September 2017. The school honours Saint Marie-Marguerite d'Youville (1701-1771), a French Canadian widow who founded the famous Grey Nuns religious order of sisters. Mother d'Youville has inspired and continues to inspire thousands of people. Churches, schools and charity organizations around the world bear her name and seek her patronage. Nurture a Christ-centred catholic community committed to the highest quality education for its students.

Model a lifestyle and deportment consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church, practicing faith through regular mass attendance and participation in ministries and the sacramental life of the Church.

Develop their faith and that of their staff so as to lead students and others closer to Christ.

Demonstrate commitment to strengthening the relationship between school, family and parish.

Build trust and foster positive working relationships within the school community on the basis of appropriate values and ethical foundations.

Involve the school community in creating and sustaining shared vision, mission, values, principles and goals.

Nurture and sustain a school culture that values and supports learning.

Ensure that each student has access to quality teaching and the opportunity to engage in quality learning experiences.

Promote the development and leadership capacity within the school community for the overall benefit of the school community and education system.

Manage school operations and resources to ensure a safe, caring, and effective learning environment.

Understand and appropriately respond to the political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts impacting the school.

Have experience or knowledge of French Immersion education and programming

Applications should include a resume, current pastoral reference, three employment-related references, current criminal record check (inclusive of vulnerable sector), current child welfare intervention check and a copy of Alberta Teaching/Leadership Certificate or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with a Master's Degree or who are working towards their Master's Degree.
