Sr. Delivery Manager - Recruitment & Sales at Compunnel Staffing Role: Data Engineer PySpark and Azure Location: Toronto, ON/ Waterloo, ON (Day 1 Onsite with Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team for the improvement of our Investment Reporting System. The Lead Engineer will play a crucial role in guiding the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices, and translating architectural designs into actionable tasks. You will act as a technical mentor, problem solver, and collaborate closely with the Solution Architect and Project Manager to deliver a robust, cloud‑native solution utilizing Azure services. This role requires a hands‑on approach to actively work with the identified technologies. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Guide and coach the engineering team to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices and standards. Act as a technical mentor and provide problem‑solving support for team members. Collaborate with the Solution Architect to translate high‑level architectural designs into detailed, actionable engineering tasks. Hands‑On Technical Work: Work actively with Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data bricks, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and Service Bus, to design and implement solutions. Lead the development of ETL pipelines, cloud‑native architectures, and database migrations through hands‑on coding and implementation. Implement DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation using the latest tools and methodologies. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Lead Engineer or in a similar role with a strong technical background. Hands‑on expertise in Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and Service Bus. Strong experience in developing ETL pipelines, cloud‑native architectures, and performing database migrations. Excellent communication and leadership skills to inspire and guide a diverse team. Strong problem‑solving abilities and a hands‑on approach to tackling challenges. Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders. Must have Insurance domain experience.
