At Anglo-Eastern, we're more than just a service provider; we are innovators, problem-solvers, and pioneers, that are progressively setting the standard so that we can shape a better maritime future.What You will DoOperation/ Audit functions:To monitor and provide guidance/information on Vessels operations as well as becoming a reference within the Anglo-Eastern Group and the industry on Vessels operations, ice navigation, codes & regulations and industry trends.To monitor and provide guidance/information for managing the operations, including insurance matters of vessels calling to Canada and Great Lakes / St. Lawrence Seaway area.The person in this position will also be responsible for all QHSE matters for the Canada Office.Roles and ResponsibilitiesMonitoring the voyage progress and operations performance of the vesselsCreate and manage a repository of all SOP’s and act as a coach to seafaring personnel on the application and evolution of operation SOP’sRegularly connect and interface with industry stakeholders and regulators to keep abreast of changes in code and regulations and to participate in the elaboration/revision of rules and regulations pertaining to operationsAct as a reference on operations and ice navigation for the Anglo-Eastern Group and its clientsProviding information/advice to calling vesselsCargo Guidance, Navigation guidance, Monitor sending of Cautionary Notices, etc.Notification, managing operational aspects of the occurrence / accident / casualty, and follow-up with various parties as requiredP&I Cargo and Miscellaneous Claims, H&M, FD&D Claims HandlingNotification, participating in contingency planning and the emergency response teams, managing operational aspects of the occurrence/accident/casualty, charter party or other commercial and miscellaneous disputes/claims and follow-up with various parties as requiredInform/guide/monitor the vessel’s transit of the HRA and ensure that the required security measures are followed/implementedCoordinates with General Manager for day-to-day QHSE activities and issues relating to the Canada Fleet, including statistics, handling of incidents, training and management of internal & external auditsEnsures that all QHSE and regulatory documents are up-to-date and kept in good standing both onboard vessels and in the Canada OfficePermanent member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) for Canada Office and management of all ERT preparedness activities for the Canada OfficeLiaise and assist all departments in matters concerning Quality, Safety and Environmental protectionWhat We Are Looking ForTechnical skills:Ice navigation knowledge and compliance with maritime codes and regulationsKnowledge of the Great Lakes / St. Lawrence Seaway navigation and operationsHandling P&I, H&M, FD&D, and cargo claimsQHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) management and audit coordinationEmergency Response Team (ERT) management and contingency planningFamiliarity with Anglo-Eastern procedures, business processes, and JiBe system (asset)Professional skills:Computer literacy, intermediate level with Microsoft Office suiteExcellent communication skills and presentation skillsProfessional discretion, sense of urgency, accuracyWell-developed time management skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong analytical, interpersonal and communication skillsProblem solving and decision-making abilitiesEducation:Mariner certificateFluent in spoken and written English, French an assetExperience:Minimum 5 years sea-going experience, plus minimum 3 years’ experience as Second officerKnowledge of the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence SeawayThe ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation of the responsibilities/qualifications required in the role.
