Job Description We are seeking a qualified Senior / Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Mining team, based out of Saskatoon, Bethune, Calgary, Edmonton or Toronto. The Mechanical Engineer will coordinate the design and multi‑disciplinary engineering delivery of mechanical systems, including data‑centric design for major projects. Bantrel is working with K+S Potash (KSPC) to expand the KSPC Bethune Potash Mine to increase production capacity over the next 5 years. Duties & Responsibilities Include Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work, resolving conflicting design requirements and coordination challenges. Plans, coordinates or prepares equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for equipment. Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors. Assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendations. Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals. Performs or assists in the performance of problem analysis and original design. Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take‑offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Reviews and checks work of subordinate engineers. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10–15 years industry experience. Professional Engineer designation. Engineering design background. Potash and/or hard rock mining experience an asset. Performs most assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected. Works independently and can contact vendor representatives and project field personnel to gather or give information. Experience with coordination of multiple interfacing engineering teams. Experience working with multi‑discipline teams in multi‑office locations. Extensive client‑facing experience. Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
