Promotes a culture that fosters trust and partnerships through appreciation, acknowledgement, and inclusion. Is committed to the Quality Management System and understands responsibility for ISO 9001:2015 and continuous improvement process. Directs activities relating to safety including compliance with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc), security, and property/casualty insurance matters. Monitor raw materials and IML Label supplies for the manufacture of products. Responsible for facility maintenance to ensure work environment is safe. Develop, implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures. Maintain OSHA 300 log and prepare monthly accident summary reports. Participate in Plant Safety Team meetings as a permanent member. Conduct monthly safety meetings and provide Supervisors/Groupleaders with safety training information for weekly department/shift meetings. Conduct quarterly Supervisor/Groupleader safety reviews and annual Manager safety review. Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures. Investigate all accidents and property losses and manage all property/casualty insurance claims. Organize and oversee all required safety training, i.e. fork truck, lockout, etc. Manage the New Hire Safety Orientation and Onboarding Process. File and maintain MSDS sheets. Purchase appropriate personal protective equipment. Manage all federal, state and local environmental permits and insure compliance. Assist inspection personnel from insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, etc. Recommend and budget for safety capital expenditure items and annual safety budget. Perform any other duties established by the Plant Manager. Qualifications Education and Experience Education: BS. Degree in Industrial Safety Management or equivalent experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations. Experience: In addition to the educational requirements, 1 – 3 years Safety Experience in an industrial setting. Team Development – understand the development needs of employees in your organization; drive the culture of employees as safety leaders; champion talent development from pre‑hire to continuous learning. Delegates work assignments; monitors delegated activities; provides recognition for results. People Agility – understand personal strengths and weaknesses; leads by example; promotes change through listening skills and seeking frequent input from employees; is genuine and approachable; firm but fair – consistent. Additional Info Other Skills & Abilities: In addition to the above, candidates should be able to demonstration the following skills and abilities. Abilities Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple assignments and projects simultaneously. Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation. Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred). Possess mechanical and processing skills.
