The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Oversee daily clinical service delivery and operational issues to ensure optimum client care in a safe therapeutic environment. Provide guidance to social workers through clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research. Contribute to delivery of quality social work services by examining, developing, refining and evaluating practices and assisting in program planning. Assist in recruitment, coordinate clinical schedules, caseloads, and service rotations. Maintain a partial clinical caseload involving assessment, interventions and follow-up within established standards of practice. Experience Minimum of 3 years recent social work experience in a health setting with at least one year in the designated service area. Supervisory experience preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE), or approved equivalent if internationally educated. Post-graduate training in specialized clinical services preferred. Successful completion of relevant continuing professional education in the designated clinical area and in management preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration Registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers. Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (may be required). Qualifications and Skills Preference given to those competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledgeable in Indigenous customs, traditions and values. Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities. Ability to initiate and support change. Knowledge and strong commitment to the social work profession, CASW Code of Ethics, and Manitoba College of Social Workers Standards of Practice. Excellent interpersonal, team-building and role-modelling skills. Working knowledge of research/program evaluation methodology. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative. Willingness to adapt to new concepts, techniques and best practices. Understanding of health and social welfare systems. Ability to practice independently or with minimal supervision. Demonstrated organizational skills and prioritization. Ability to function within a computerized environment. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without rest. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or occasionally extended hours. May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, and physical and emotional stress. May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
