Senior Analyst, Derivatives Position

This is an exciting opportunity to dive into the dynamic world of derivatives as our Senior Analyst, Derivatives. You will be at the forefront of financial innovation, tackling complex technical research and ensuring top-notch compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review commodity and other complex contracts for proper accounting treatment under FASB ASC Topic 815 (Derivatives and Hedging).
  2. Prepare monthly mark to market entries, validating the calculation of routine and complex derivatives.
  3. Develop and deliver insightful reporting and analysis, including monthly variance analysis of derivatives balances.
  4. Ensure accurate reconciliation and confirmation of monthly statements with financial trade counterparties.
  5. Settle financial trades, including OTC and exchange transactions, in a timely and accurate manner.
  6. Support quarterly and annual external audits, providing reports as requested.
  7. Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable role within a public company.
  2. Strong understanding of internal accounting controls and SOX guidelines.
  3. Proficiency in derivatives accounting is highly desirable.
  4. Experience in overseeing risk management is a significant advantage.
