We Are: At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are: You are a passionate and experienced analog design engineer looking to make a significant impact in the world of high-performance computing (HPC). You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with a diverse team of experts in analog and mixed-signal circuit design. Your hands-on experience and deep understanding of mixed-signal circuit design best practices set you apart. You are adept at automating design flows and have the ability to train and guide engineers to achieve excellence in new methodologies. With your strong problem-solving skills and innovative mindset, you are ready to contribute to cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of technology.

What You’ll Be Doing: Reviewing SerDes standards and architecture documents to develop analog sub-block specifications. Identifying and refining circuit implementations to achieve optimal power, area, and performance targets. Proposing design and verification strategies that efficiently use simulator features to ensure the highest quality design. Overseeing physical layout to minimize the effect of parasitics, device stress, and process variation. Collaborating with digital RTL engineers on the development of calibration, adaptation, and control algorithms for analog circuits. Presenting simulation data for peer and customer review. Mentoring and reviewing the progress of junior engineers. Documenting design features and test plans. Consulting on the electrical characterization of your circuit within the SerDes IP product. The Impact You Will Have: Enhancing the performance and reliability of high-performance computing systems. Driving innovation in analog and mixed-signal circuit design. Contributing to the development of cutting-edge SerDes technologies. Mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers. Improving design methodologies and automation flows to increase efficiency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality silicon IP products. What You’ll Need: Bachelor with 5 years' experience or MSEE (or PhD) with 3 years' experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field. In-depth familiarity with transistor level circuit design and sound CMOS design fundamentals. Silicon-proven experience implementing circuits for the TX, RX, and Clock paths within a SerDes. Detailed design experience with several SerDes sub-circuits such as receive equalizers, data samplers, voltage/current-mode drivers, serializers, deserializers, voltage-controlled oscillators, phase interpolators, delay-locked loops, phase-locked loops, bandgap references, ADCs, and DACs. Experience optimizing FinFET CMOS layout to minimize the effect of parasitic resistance and capacitance, and to reduce the effects of local device mismatch and proximity effects. Awareness of ESD issues and design for reliability. Experience with EDA tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification. High proficiency with spice simulators including HSPICE, Finesim, and XA. Knowledgeable in Verilog-A and/or System-Verilog for analog behavioral modeling and simulation-control/data-capture. Who You Are: An innovative and collaborative team player. A strong communicator with excellent presentation skills. A mentor and leader who can guide and inspire junior engineers. A problem solver with a keen eye for detail. Adaptable and open to learning new methodologies and technologies. Passionate about advancing the field of analog and mixed-signal design. The Team You’ll Be Part Of: You will be working with an immensely creative cross-functional team of analog and mixed-signal circuit designers from a wide variety of backgrounds on design and methodology. Together, we drive innovation and excellence in the development of cutting-edge SerDes technologies.

Rewards and Benefits: We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
