Role Summary:
As a Shop Floor Planner, you will be part of a team that coordinates resources to support the master schedule, keeping it live and relevant in order to maximize production resources and avoid product expiration of critical starting materials. This is an externally facing role, monitoring the progress of 3PL inbound and outbound logistics for materials with short expiry (in some cases, less than 24 hours), and communicating internally to the Hamilton site on impact to real-time logistics and delivery of these critical materials. Interacting with Manufacturing, QA, QC, Facilities & Engineering, project managers, department managers, and client scheduling, you will ensure that the inbound logistics, manufacturing process, and outbound logistics activities do not impact patients’ collection and treatment of these therapies. You will be able to anticipate the impact of delays along the inbound and outbound logistics route, react by adjusting the relevant schedule, and communicate sitewide accordingly. You will also be able to run shift change meetings to update attainment, progress, and priority. The location of this position is at OmniaBio’s Hamilton, Ontario facility, with work hours supporting a facility that operates 24/7/365.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Understand the basics of international border transfers.
- Assign work to open resources and assets and communicate to the site (Production Scheduling).
- Schedule shift meetings according to production needs.
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.
- Able to take action based on output of scheduling tools and other business systems and applications.
- Follow OmniaBio’s policies, standard operating procedures, and GMP documentation, adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP’s).
- Collaborate with all teams (QA, QC, Warehouse, Manufacturing, F&E, Accounts Payable, etc.) to ensure that the schedule stays current and relevant and poses no risks to patients.
- Adopt the OmniaBio Operating Model and embrace a continuous improvement approach to all work activities.
Qualifications:
- 4-year college program plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior work in an ERP and other resource planning tools such as SAP is a plus.
- Experience working with manufacturing teams.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience in scenario planning.
