Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Manager of City Projects to spearhead the planning, execution, and management of key projects crucial to the development and growth of our community.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the development of long-term planning and annual plans for the department and broader city projects.
- Lead the development and implementation of annual operational plans.
- Manage project budgets, conduct financial forecasting, and ensure compliance with financial management practices.
- Foster positive stakeholder relationships by providing guidance and advice to community representatives and partners.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project team staff, conduct performance planning, and monitor team productivity.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring adherence to safety standards and corporate initiatives.
- Oversee project management practices, conduct evaluations, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Proficiency in core management practices, including program/service delivery, budgeting, and human resources.
- Experience in managing and implementing projects, including coordination with internal and external parties.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and concepts, legal, financial, and procurement issues.
- Knowledge of marketing, communications strategies, and project evaluation processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Change management skills to address resistance to change and build consensus.
- Schedule Days Off (SDOs) 12 paid days per annum
