About DarkVision DarkVision Technologies Inc. is a Canada‑based tech company disrupting the industrial imaging market since 2013. We have created the world's most advanced acoustic‑based imaging platform and are packaging it into multiple new product lines. Role Summary DarkVision is looking for a curious and motivated Research Scientist to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of upcoming ultrasound‑based products. You will explore and design innovative imaging ideas from ideation through development, verification, and validation. Responsibilities Use ultrasound imaging solutions to solve real‑world industrial problems. Conduct research, experiment, data acquisition, and data processing. Explore and design innovative imaging ideas and concepts from ideation to development and validation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. Qualifications Understanding of ultrasound imaging techniques and beamforming algorithms. Understanding of different signal processing and image processing algorithms. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or other scientific programming languages. Hands‑on experience with software and algorithm development. Hands‑on experience running simulations and experiments to validate ideas. Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related fields. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of ultrasound‑based NDT applications. Experience with ultrasound research systems such as Verasonics. Experience with industrial ultrasound simulation software such as CIVA or k‑Wave. Familiarity with industrial ultrasound scanners such as OmniScan. Hands‑on experience with software and algorithm development for industrial ultrasound scanners. Comfortable with C/C++ programming. Relevant portfolio (past projects and publications) related to ultrasound imaging. Salary Range $70,000 to $110,000 per year, eligible for variable pay. Benefits The role is on‑site at DarkVision's head office in North Vancouver, BC.
