YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE We are looking for a Microbiologist 1 in 6660 Campobello Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L9 CAN. Your mission will be to: Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. Microbiologist 1 – (PCR) – Post Inc. Dept., Food Microbiology Lab Primary role is PCR area: setting up various rapid methods, recording and releasing results as well as approvals and validations within the LIMS system. Results oriented to produce high‑quality defensible analytical data, safely and on time by following applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Follow specific reporting requirements for specific clients and effectively communicate to appropriate internal groups. Coordinate the priority organization and flow of samples and/or materials. Gain full knowledge with respect to performing analytical procedures and related quality control techniques. Participate in building a strong team of analytical professionals. Communicate with data entry, PMs, sample inspection, archiving and other departments as well as external contacts clearly and promptly. Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations. Monitor/maintain adequate supply of media and other chemicals. Ensure all micro QA logbooks are followed and up to date. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed for analyses and scope. Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within expected TAT requirements. Other duties as assigned by the lab supervisors, including other areas of the lab. YOUR PROFILE Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. Demonstrated success in the role of a Laboratory Technician. Post secondary school education and equivalent experience. Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office. Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, and can‑do attitude. Detailed understanding of laboratory information systems and overall processes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good record‑keeping skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Organized with a professional attitude and excellent communication skills. Must be able to work afternoon shifts & weekends; all candidates must be flexible to any shift change & overtime. Compensation: $21 CAD per hour WHY JOIN US?
