The modern 164‑bed, seven story acute care hospital provides quality patient care with individual inpatient rooms, state‑of‑the‑art treatment rooms, and enhanced diagnostics systems.Position DetailsPosition: Full‑Time Shift LeadSite: Western Memorial Regional HospitalOvertime: Overtime after 48 hoursHours: Continental RotationPayrate: $21.85/hourPosting Date: October 27, 2025Internal Closing Date: November 21, 2025 Key Responsibilities Ensure all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security Policies and NL Health Services Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures Regular communication and engagement with NL Health Services site Management Ensure all Security Officers have received the mandatory site orientation, training and required compliance training Ensuring superior customer service skills and a passion for helping people; able to think quickly on your feet and defuse difficult situations Motivates staff and recommends commendations to their respected Supervisor Document and investigate security incidents and complaints, ensure all proper documentation is forwarded in accordance with the chain of command in a timely manner Daily paperwork includes advanced reports, sign‑in sheets, overtime checks and authorizations, shift swaps, incident reports, ticket batching, etc. Supervise the security officers assigned to the site and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with the health authority and regulatory requirements Assist with departmental site schedule, ensuring all shifts are covered and assist coverage where needed Attend unscheduled and scheduled meetings and last‑minute bookings for sick employees or coverage of shifts if necessary Perform site patrols and respond to all necessary codes and calls Assist with conducting regular fire drills and security education sessions, maintaining records and preparing incident reports Perform other duties as requested by the client NL Health Services in conjunction with Paladin management Prerequisites Clean letter of conduct and Vulnerable sector check Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA‑approved vendor) Valid class 5 driver license English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Paladin will cover all of the costs of training with a 6‑month commitment to the position/availability Why choose Paladin?
