The incumbent exercises initiative, independent judgment and works in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, values and policies. Experience Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Dietitian or in a nutrition‑related profession. Education Bachelor of Science Degree, Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetic or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated, required. Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship program accredited by Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice, including the Masters of Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Manitoba, or a planned practicum as requested by the College of Dietitians of Manitoba. Certification/Licensure/Registration Current active registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba. Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course within 6 months of hire. Membership with Dietitians of Canada recommended. Qualifications And Skills Knowledge of Manitoba Long Term Care Standards. Knowledge of behavior change counselling and client‑focused approaches and strategies. Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques. Knowledge of Total Parenteral Nutrition for positions located in the Regional Centres. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with efficiency while maintaining high quality standards. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to evolving techniques and procedures in a changing environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized work environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, health care professionals and co‑workers. Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive working relationship with all staff, residents, patients and clients. Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written directions. Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a collaborative health care team. Demonstrated organizational, communication and leadership skills. Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions. Physical Requirements Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job. No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary. Will be required to support sites where vacation coverage/vacancies apply. Will be required to support onboarding process for new dietitians upon hire. This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
