This dynamic role combines technical expertise with project management and strategic alignment. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging research, product development, and business objectives—ensuring innovation initiatives are effectively managed from concept to execution. Responsibilities will also include oversight of intellectual property activities and the R&D budget.Based in Calgary, Alberta, and working closely with a multidisciplinary, international team, you will help advance the development of the world’s first closed-loop geothermal system.This permanent full-time, in-office position is located in Calgary, with limited travel required based on business needs.To learn more about our mission and projects, please visit Eavor’s website or our LinkedIn page.Some Of What You Will DoProject Management:Managing internal teams’ well delivery workflows and budget for a large multiple year technology development projectCoordinating inter-dependencies among different teamsManaging project critical path timelineScheduling and budgeting for multiple work streamsManaging project collaboration space and maintaining project documentationLeading product development research for Rock-Pipe:Research improved Rock-Pipe chemistriesDesign of experimental scopes for screening and validationOrganize and manage lab testing and analyze results from a scientific and operational standpoint. Identify KPIs and measure compared to baselineCollaborate with operational department in the company on Rock-Pipe in the translation of laboratory findings to the fieldCreate and maintain standardized project workflows for other research projects within the team in collaboration with project leadsCollaborate with leaders of each work stream and technical staff to ensure project milestones and deadlines are tracked and deliveredIntellectual Property Management:Monitor and track patent action items, working closely with legal counsel and the technology team to ensure Intellectual Property (IP) deliverables and deadlines are metManage IP Committee processManage internal IP databaseManage Finance InterfaceBuild 2025 R&D budget and track, report, and manage spending vs budgetLead development of external funding applications for R&DBudget projection and reportingCompetitor IntelligenceLead competitor analysisBuild and maintain a database of competitors, and track their progressCoordinate technical and economic analysis of subsurface heat extraction technologies.Documentation and Reporting:Generate regular progress reports for internal distribution, as well as updates for company-wide and board presentationsMust-Have QualificationsSome of What you Will Need:Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering disciplineExperience in materials science, chemistry, or a closely related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in geothermal energy research or in managing research activitiesProven experience in preparing and submitting funding applications to agencies such as Alberta Innovates, Emissions Reduction Alberta, NSERC, or equivalentPreferred QualificationsProject management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM)Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Miro, Jira, Notion, or similar platformsWho is Eavor Technologies Inc.Eavor (pronounced “Ever”) is a private company founded in 2017 to develop and commercialize disruptive geothermal technology.
