In this role, you’ll take ownership of our GCP-based environment, architecting scalable and cost-efficient systems, automating deployment pipelines, and improving observability and reliability across the stack.You’ll work closely with the rest of the platform development team to deliver a secure, high-performance infrastructure that powers real-world drug discovery. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys building onto existing systems and is excited to help shape the technical foundation of a growing platform. We prioritize a team player who can embrace and contribute to our positive culture of mutual support and growth.Location: RemoteCore ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practicesArchitect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems to support a cloud-native drug discovery platform, including containerized workloads and batch processing.Lead infrastructure and DevOps initiatives, from planning through execution, to support a growing cloud-based application ecosystem.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to automate build, test, and deployment processes.Enhance observability and reliability by implementing monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions tailored to production workloads.Optimize and scale relational databases, particularly Google Cloud SQL with PostgreSQL, ensuring performance and availability meet the platform’s evolving needs.Collaborate closely with software engineers to support deployment strategies, service reliability, and infrastructure requirements throughout the development lifecycle.Work cross-functionally with scientific and platform teams to translate R&D needs into scalable cloud solutions.Continuously evaluate and improve cloud cost efficiency, system performance, and platform reliability.Contribute to a positive team culture supporting personal and professional development in line with the company’s core values and missionRequirementsBachelor’s or Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, natural science, or a related field3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or similar rolesStrong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools, especially CDK for Terraform (cdk-tf)Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, particularly in the context of infrastructure automationExperience deploying and managing containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Google Cloud Batch, or similar)Demonstrated ability to architect, implement, and scale cloud infrastructure in production environmentsSolid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience building pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)Proven ability to work cross-functionally with software teams and align infrastructure to application needsExperience with Google Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL) in high-performance or large-scale environmentsStrong attention to detail, an interest in picking up new skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environmentNice to haveExperience supporting scientific or data-intensive applications in biotechExposure to batch computing, high-throughput pipelines, or distributed systemsWhat we offerMenten AI is all about helping you lead a healthy and meaningful life in and outside of work.
