This role will give you the opportunity to advance your career in our One Team culture that values a winning attitude, continual learning and innovation, adaptability and flexibility, engagement, teamwork and having fun.This role will give you the opportunity to:Utilize your knowledge of vegetation community and wetland characterization, impact and effects assessments, mitigation management, and habitat reclamation to obtain regulatory permits and approvalsCollaborate with our talented professionals across multiple disciplines to plan projects, implement environmentally sustainable and innovative designs, manage contractors, and coordinate with regulatory agenciesBe the subject matter expert providing high-value technical services to develop positive relationships with our key clients, both internal and external to the organizationPlan and execute field programs in local and remote sitesPrepare and review technical reportsDevelop project proposals and budgetsParticipate in our global environmental social governance, joint health and safety, or a local social committeeTravel throughout CanadaIf you have 6 or more years of applicable experience conducting environmental assessments, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specializing in Soil Science, Botany, Ecology, Biology or Environmental Sciences, a solid understanding of vegetation ecology and wetland science, and are registered or qualify to be registered as a P.Biol. or P.Ag. and an Authenticating Wetland Professional, we want to connect with youWe value your:Initiative, motivation and adaptability to manage project deliverables and achieve goalsAbility to build positive, effective relationships with clients and multi-disciplinary project teamsSuperb verbal and written communication skills including your experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondenceExperience planning, leading, and conducting vegetation and wetland surveysUnderstanding and experience with the Alberta Wetland Policy and wetland classificationsProven taxonomic vegetation identification skills including wetland indicators, rare plants, native plants, and introduced and/or weed speciesKnowledge and experience with various Ecological Land Classification (ELC) systems and spatial datasets such as the Alberta Vegetation InventoryAbility to prepare and digitize ELC mapping and wetland boundaries by interpreting digital imagery and field data derived from detailed surveysWorking knowledge of the Canadian System of Soil Classification and AGRASIDStrong understanding of provincial and federal regulatory legislation, guidelines, and regulationsReclamation, restoration, and/or bioengineering experienceExperience and knowledge in various market sectors including water resources, mining, infrastructure, and transportationProficiency using Microsoft Office Suite® and capability with GIS and data managementParticipation in industry Technical and Professional associationsAbout Us:Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.
