Cardiovascular Technologist Grand River Hospital, part of Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) – Midtown location. Hours of Work: Part Time Position Summary: The Cardiovascular Technologist performs cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms (ECGs), cardiac stress tests, ambulatory Holter monitoring, and tilt table testing for outpatients and inpatients at WRHN. The role requires a registered technologist who operates equipment, conducts tests, and provides preliminary interpretations to physicians and care providers. Responsibilities Perform 12‑lead ECGs for outpatient clinics and some inpatient areas as needed. Transmit ECGs to Cerner and assign them to the reading physician. Report critical findings to the MRP immediately. Manage ECGs in Cerner to ensure each ECG is attached to an order and assigned to the reading physician. Handle outpatient and inpatient orders for Holter monitoring (24 h–14 days), including patient preparation, monitor application, providing instructions for electrode changes, documenting symptoms, and information for return. Upon return to WRHN, clean the monitor properly and download data to the Holter Scanning software (HE/LX). Scan Holter results and create preliminary reports for the physician to sign. Conduct outpatient stress testing, which includes patient preparation, test explanation and documentation of results, providing a preliminary report for the physician to sign, and set up and monitor patients during tilt table testing with the physician present. Position Requirements Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Technology program as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT). Membership with the Ontario Society of Cardiovascular Technologists in good standing. Will consider new graduates who have had exposure to all testing modalities through student placements and who will be writing the OSCT or CSCT exam. Preferred Requirements Experience with all modalities of testing. At least one year of previous experience.
