Position Seasonal Forestry Silviculture Assistant Location Timmins, Chapleau, and Kapuskasing - Ontario Based out of Timmins, Chapleau, or Kapuskasing, you will undertake data collection to support silviculture operations, forest management planning, forest certification, and annual program delivery. You will perform monitoring of silviculture projects and assess contractor performance, which may involve some travel between the communities. Responsibilities Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, and support the Health & Safety Program. Comply with corporate regulations, policies, and procedures. Monitor treeplant contractors and perform quality control. Support aerial tending, site preparation, free-to-grow and other silvicultural programs as required. Provide support to successfully implement Forest Management Plans and document progress on implementation. Support the forest operations team with surveys and inspections. Develop and maintain a good rapport between contractors, customers, outside agencies, Indigenous communities, other forest users and management. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Enrolled or graduated from a College/University program in Forestry or a related field. Experience: 1 to 3 years of related experience is an asset. Driving: Valid Class G or G2 Driver’s License. Please Note: Work term will be from May - September 2026. Responsabilités Promouvoir et fournir un lieu de travail sûr, rechercher des améliorations, soutenir le programme de santé et de sécurité. Se conformer aux règlements, politiques et procédures de l'entreprise. Superviser les entrepreneurs chargés de la plantation d'arbres et effectuer des contrôles de qualité. Soutenir l'entretien aérien, la préparation des sites, la croissance libre et d'autres programmes sylvicoles, selon les besoins. Apporter son soutien à la mise en œuvre réussie des plans de gestion forestière et documenter les progrès réalisés dans ce domaine. Soutenir l'équipe chargée des opérations forestières en effectuant des enquêtes et des inspections. Développer et maintenir de bonnes relations entre les entrepreneurs, les clients, les organismes externes, les communautés autochtones, les autres utilisateurs de la forêt et la direction. Autres tâches assignées. Exigences Formation : Inscrit ou diplômé d'un programme collégial ou universitaire en foresterie ou dans un domaine connexe. Expérience : 1 à 3 ans d'expérience dans le domaine constituent un atout. Conduite : permis de conduire valide de classe G ou G2. Remarque : la période de travail s'étendra de mai à septembre 2026.
