Your Opportunity We are seeking a professional and dynamic intermediate Civil Engineer or technologist to join our highly successful water practice in Medicine Hat, AB. As part of the conveyance team, this role involves the design of municipal infrastructure, linear infrastructure, roadway rehabilitation, stormwater improvements, Park and Open Space rehabilitation, and earthworks. Your Key Responsibilities Complete site topographical surveys and construction stakeout. Perform field inspections throughout the construction phase of projects. Conduct QA materials testing as required for projects. Support detailed studies, plan reviews, and design tasks associated with municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, including engineering drawings, reports, and technical specifications. Develop design through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats; prepare and revise documentation in civil phases such as site plans, utility plans, grading plans, cross sections, submittal reviews, and responses to information requests. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, or other consultants. Undertake field work or investigations as required. Assist in proposal preparation. Meet with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions. Support the growth strategy aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications Work experience in linear infrastructure including water mains, wastewater sewer, land drainage sewer, forcemains, lagoon design, stormwater management, earthwork and grading, flood protection, canal rehabilitation, or UIRP projects. Ability to prepare technical specifications and contract documents. Experience completing quantity take-offs and preparing cost estimates. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently within project manager direction. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities on projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset. Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Travel required. Willingness to work in a team environment. Education and Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience. A degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology from an accredited technical college or university (or equivalent). Engineers must be registered with APEGA as an E.I.T. or P.Eng.
