Program Consultant - Behavioural Support Ontario 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description The Program Consultant will provide clinical assessment and treatment recommendations through a comprehensive behavioural approach. This role requires working within a Long Term Care Home setting, designing, implementing, and monitoring behaviour intervention programs that augment the individual’s care plan. The Program Consultant will also develop, implement, and supervise training of mediators individually or in groups on the principles and procedures of behaviour management, as well as develop, implement, and facilitate ongoing education in Applied Behaviour Analysis for Long Term Care Home staff, direct care providers, community partners, and family members. The candidate will act as a liaison and collaborate with all health providers involved in the individual’s circle of care, including leading monthly clinical rounds. What must you have? Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and related experience or equivalent Valid Ontario driver’s license and a vehicle, and ability to travel throughout Ontario Health Central Region (e.g., York Region, North York Toronto, South Simcoe County) What else do you bring? Current clinical experience and knowledge of behaviour therapy as it applies to older adults, including individuals with dementia, delirium, mental health, addictions, other neurological conditions, and acute behavioural change Experience supporting older adults in a community, supported living, or long‑term care setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide clinical training and support to LTCH staff, RPNs, PSWs and other care team members Designs a behavioural intervention plan using a comprehensive behavioural approach for individuals living in LTC, engages in data collection, documentation, oversees implementation, monitoring and program evaluation Ability to provide mediator training (coaching and training) of caregivers in Long Term Care Homes and other care team members, including family members Liaises and collaborates with external specialty teams and resources; organizes and leads monthly clinical rounds Well-developed interpersonal skills Proven attendance record Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment Ability to perform essential duties of the job, including carrying a caseload, conducting comprehensive behaviour and intake assessments, and other duties as assigned by BSO Coordinator/Manager Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring Models behaviour aligned with the values of Mackenzie Health – Excellence, Leadership, and Empathy Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment Preferably, Your Profile Also Includes Ability to fluently speak French Registered health professionals with applicable experience are welcome to apply May be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health Mackenzie Health is an inclusive and equal opportunity employer committed to providing accommodations for applicants upon request at any stage of the recruitment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
