About the workplace
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.
As a Senior Manager, Finance Transformation, you'll spearhead the evolution of our finance operations and operating model, leveraging digitalization and innovative delivery models to maximize impact. You'll identify new opportunities, redesign processes, and foster effective collaboration with key stakeholders, including the CFO, finance leaders, and other influential business leaders. If you're passionate about driving change and making a significant impact, this is the role for you
A typical day would involve:
- Co-create (with the Finance Leadership team) a vision for continuous innovation and transformation: Build a roadmap to introduce and adopt Agile development practices. Provide process change thought leadership and execution, building new capabilities to re-envision processes and operationalizing new ways of working.
- Continuously explore and evaluate innovative finance technology solutions, emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in finance that can transform finance work. Ensure finance functional strategy aligns with overall business strategy, short-term goals support long-term strategy, and transformation is seen as a top priority across the organization.
- Lead finance transformations by strategically prioritizing initiatives, fostering training and adoption, documenting current workflows, identifying and implementing process improvements, and developing objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Perform expert assessment of resources required to execute transformation; develop, hire, or source internally the necessary digital talent to execute transformation objectives and effectively manage their redeployment to new projects as they arise. Drive process improvement and governance for enterprise-wide processes (e.g., P2P, O2C, R2R, A2R).
- Redesign and drive implementation of finance operating model based on the opportunities enabled by technology and automation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices. Collaborate with the CFO and the rest of the finance leadership team to develop precise, measurable guidelines and language to inform the direction of change for each element of the operating model.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of the new finance operating model.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on finance transformation strategies.
- Establish partnerships and create buy-in with key business leaders to secure the required investments for the transformation, including establishing a transformation steering committee.
- Prepare presentations for communicating operational and technological insights to senior management to facilitate decision-making and business performance assessments.
- In coordination with other finance subfunctions, generate and source ideas for new finance transformation projects to build capabilities for meeting organizational needs. Create and maintain a decision framework for determining when to end or pause in-flight projects.
- Work closely with key stakeholders in and outside of finance to foster a culture of continuous adherence and improvement of key financial systems and processes. Take a people-centered approach to build awareness of how individuals and teams respond to change.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Six Sigma designation is an asset.
- Extensive experience in leading large scale finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with ERP/Finance systems implementation is required.
- Experience with Agile practices and methodologies.
- Strong background in finance technology solutions and emerging technologies.
- Ability to prioritize initiatives strategically and develop objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Experience in documenting current workflows and identifying process improvements.
- Proven ability to develop and implement change management strategies.
- Strong skills in building and leveraging stakeholder partnerships, including cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing presentations and facilitating decision-making.
- Focus on fostering a culture of continuous adherence and improvement of financial systems and processes.
You are:
- An excellent communicator – you use your interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate project deliverables, convey and address ideas, challenges, and opportunities across several functions, teams, and departments, internally and externally. You are able to simplify complex topics into easy to consume visual PowerPoint slides and written reports. You love to collaborate, consult, and be resourceful.
- A people leader - you have people leadership skills to manage a team of direct reports and support the technical/transactional activities and carry out all people practices. You have the ability to be adaptable to manage and lead yourself and your team through change.
- A problem solver – Your skills to diagnose challenges and issues, develop innovative business solutions, and assess risks and opportunities that may affect the business have been put to good use.
We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.
The salary range for this role is $102,200 to $153,200 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
