Gravel Pit Foreman / Crusher Operator

Kelowna Ready Mix is accepting applications for the full-time position of Gravel Pit Forman/Crusher Operator.
This is a full-time position, weekdays, with overtime and Saturday work available.
Our gravel pit is in West Kelowna and is a combined quarry and sand/gravel pit.
From this location, KRM serves the local landscape and concrete industries.

Qualifications
  • be familiar with the Ministry of Mines, Health & Safety, and Reclamation Codes
  • hold current Mines Supervisor Certificate
  • hold current Level C First Aid
  • understand crushing and screening layouts and processes
  • understand basic pit planning and layouts
  • familiarity with various gravel tests required for production (sieve tests, hardness, A.A.R., acid rock eval., etc.)
Experience
  • maintaining/repairing Jaw and Cone Crushers
  • maintaining/repairing Screen Decks and Conveyor Systems
  • adjusting screen decks and crushers for optimum operation and control of the production of gravel pit products
  • operating pit mobile equipment (loaders, water trucks, etc.)
  • maintaining/repairing pit mobile equipment
  • the general maintenance of a screening/crushing plant
Priority will be given to the applicant with previous experience in:
  • Pit supervision/Forman
  • Welding and steel fabrication
  • Class 3 or 1 with Air Brake endorsement
  • Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanic or similar work experience
