Early Learning & Elementary Education Camp Instructors, Casual Location: MRU Main Campus - Calgary, AB T3E 6K6 CA (Primary). Position End Date: August 28, 2026. Hours: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Must be available for all 9 weeks of employment (June 29–August 28, 2026) and orientation week (June 22–26, 2026). Salary: $18.00 per hour. About the Role MRU Camps seeks enthusiastic individuals to share knowledge, passion, and expertise with children and youth in Early Childhood Development, Child and Youth Care, and Elementary Education fields. Under the supervision of the Early Learning & Elementary Education (ELEE) Supervisor, the Instructor will deliver lessons and lead campers through activities such as crafts, sports, and games. Responsibilities include administrative duties and maintaining professional relations with staff, campers, and parents. Camp Instructors will work closely with Camp Leaders and Volunteers. Candidate Requirements Experience in a childcare or educational setting delivering lesson plans and curriculum (minimum 1 year). Previous experience or volunteering in camp or recreational activities is an asset. Experience with curriculum design and implementation is an asset. Team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills. Passion for Early Childhood Development, Education, Health, Physical Education, or coaching/teaching. Must be available for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from June 29 to August 28, 2026. Must attend mandatory staff training June 22–26, 2026. Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and adapt program lessons and activities. Ensure safety, well‑being, and enjoyment of campers aged 4–9. Make accommodations for campers with varying learning needs. Collaborate with co‑leaders and instructors to deliver daily programs. Assist Camp Leaders with recreational and classroom activities. Supervise and coordinate lunchtime, before and after care. Complete administrative tasks including camper registration, incident reports, and attendance. Attend staff orientation and required meetings. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians about their child’s experience. Required Documents and Certifications Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search (valid within 1 year). Standard First Aid (valid within 2 years) and CPR Level C (valid within 1 year).
