Electrical EIT

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical (EIT) for our client, a leading organization in the energy and utilities sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to join a highly collaborative team supporting large-scale infrastructure and operations projects that contribute to powering communities across British Columbia. You will perform supervised engineering tasks on assignments of limited scope and complexity, supporting both design and operational initiatives. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, developing both your technical expertise and professional judgment within a supportive and structured environment. Location: Burnaby Contract Length: 1 year Key Responsibilities Assist with engineering studies, designs, and analyses using established procedures and techniques. Contribute to the development of safe and effective engineering solutions for infrastructure projects. Support more complex engineering work under the supervision of a senior professional engineer. Conduct routine field and office work, including construction quality control and compliance monitoring. Ensure adherence to professional and technical standards, codes, and company procedures. Participate in team discussions, project documentation, and quality review processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with EGBC, or eligibility for registration. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant engineering field. Valid Class 5 driver’s license. Proficiency with CAD systems, industry-standard design / analysis software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment. Nice-to-Have Experience Previous experience with SAP or Autodesk Inventor. Exposure to transmission substation design or large-scale electrical infrastructure. Prior co-op or professional experience within the utilities or energy sector.
