Engineering Buyer

Long term contract possibly temp to perm, hybrid role 3 times a week either in Guelph or London Ontario

Full Cycle procurement from planning, sourcing, buying, expediting to delivery.

Will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing various components and commodities, including complex items such as fabricated parts, valves, compressors, and rotating equipment. You will also have governance and responsibility for the Purchase 2 Pay (P2P) process, resolving supply chain logistical and accounting concerns. Additionally, you will support the implementation of Master Supplier Agreements, manage supplier performance, and ensure the accuracy of material costs.

Roles and Responsibilities: - Negotiate and purchase various components and commodities, including complex items - Resolve supply chain logistical and accounting concerns with suppliers and internal customers - Support the implementation of Master Supplier Agreements for assigned categories/commodities - Manage supplier performance, evaluation, and development - Review purchase requisitions and engineering releases for completeness - Develop RFPs and RFQs to support engineering specifications and project requirements - Ensure accurate and current material costs are communicated across the business - Adhere to all required compliance programs and policies

Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or similar/related experience - Minimum of 3 years of procurement/category management experience - Experience with MRP/ERP materials planning systems, preferably any ERP Project module - Global sourcing experience in a manufacturing company - Familiarity with electronic sourcing tools such as RFI, RFQ, and Reverse Auction - Ability to conduct business travel in and outside of North America - Preferred experience with SAP ERP Materials Management Module and procuring custom engineered equipment
