Electroneurophysiology Technologist I – Alberta Health Services Our Electro Neurophysiology Lab supports community clients and inpatients across the South Zone. We are currently seeking a dedicated Electroneurophysiology Technologist I to join our team. In this role, you will perform EEG procedures on outpatients of all ages (approximately 25% Pediatric, 75% Adult) as well as EEG recordings on inpatients, including critically ill patients in the ICU. You’ll be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting electroneurophysiology equipment, and ensuring accurate patient records. Orientation will be tailored to your learning needs, with ongoing skill development and shift planning to support appointment continuity. Responsibilities Perform EEG procedures on all age groups using a variety of electrode application methods. Explain testing procedures to clients/patients and family. Observe and record physical changes during testing. Prepare, update, and maintain patient records. Carry out equipment maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and detect malfunctions. Make minor repairs or report need for major repairs to appropriate personnel. Inform physician of urgent examination results. Resolve unusual or complex cases, or refer concerns to the appropriate individual(s). Required Qualifications Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Graduation from a formal electrophysiology program, or equivalent training. Successful completion of Canadian Board of Registration of EEG Technologists (CBRET) examinations or equivalent in addition to either successful completion of the Board of Registration of Electromyography of Canada (BRETC) examinations or successful completion of the Certification Examination in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM). Current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACDMTT). English language fluency to meet ACMDTT policy. Current CPR certification. Physical abilities: prolonged sitting/standing, pushing/pulling of equipment, assisting with patient transfers, sustained awkward postures involved in day-to-day work activities. Preferred Qualifications Proven leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. Exceptional communication skills. EMG experience preferred.
