Controls & Automation Engineer

Are you an experienced automation professional passionate about working on large-scale marine projects around the globe? We're looking for a Controls & Automation Engineer to join our growing team and support the design, integration, and commissioning of advanced HVAC‑R systems on some of the world’s most impressive marine vessels. What You’ll Do As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for designing control systems, programming PLCs and HMIs, and providing hands‑on support during system installation and commissioning. You’ll also play a vital role in improving our solutions—driving innovation to reduce shipbuilding complexity and cost. Design and document control systems, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical Configure and program control systems (Siemens TIA Portal, Logo Controller, Beijer HMI) Execute hands‑on commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation both in‑house and at shipyards Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement smart automation solutions for HVAC‑R applications Support system startup, sensor calibration, and functional testing Provide technical input during project planning and implementation phases Travel occasionally to shipyards for on‑site support, system installation, and customer interactions What We’re Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Minimum 5 years of experience in automation and control systems Strong knowledge of industrial PLCs, HMI programming, and HVAC system controls Experience using AutoCAD Electrical for panel design Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Bilingual (English & French) with strong communication abilities Willingness to travel up to 15% This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting‑edge automation systems in a global marine environment.
