Dining and shopping options are plentiful. This position is based in Mackenzie Place and focuses on providing recreation to the residents of a 74‑bed Type B facility. Description As a Therapy Aide, you will work independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to the effective delivery of rehabilitation services. Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, inventorying equipment, and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech‑language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote client healthy living, and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program. Minimum high school diploma. Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent preferred. Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills required. Related experience working with elderly or physically challenged individuals an asset. Previous experience working with Recreation in a medical setting will be considered an asset. Ability to push wheelchairs for an extended period, load clients onto the bus for outings, support clients in a range of physical hygiene tasks, and perform client transfers over the course of a full shift. Preferred Qualifications As Required.
