Vice President, Customer Communications and Public Affairs TransLink is seeking a Vice President, Customer Communications and Public Affairs to lead communications, marketing, public affairs, and customer engagement strategies across the enterprise. Responsibilities PRIMARY PURPOSE – Provides senior leadership and oversight to the development of short- and long-term strategies for communications, marketing, public affairs, and customer engagement programs across the enterprise. Represents the department as a member of the TransLink Senior Executive Team and translates the organization’s goals into integrated cross-boundary strategies and business solutions. Leads the development and achievement of short- and long-term strategies and objectives to protect and enhance TransLink’s reputation. Acts as senior champion of all strategic communication, marketing, public affairs and customer engagement programs, collaborating with senior leaders across the enterprise. Provides senior leadership to the ongoing development and preservation of the TransLink corporate brand. Provides senior leadership to the enterprise communication programs, including internal and external messaging through traditional, social and other electronic media. Provides senior leadership to the enterprise marketing and ridership development program, ensuring integration and alignment with all related programs. Provides senior leadership to the enterprise public affairs program, including strategic government relations and community engagement. Develops strategies and drives innovation through technology to expand the impact of social media beyond customer relationships. Represents the TransLink enterprise in cultivating positive relationships with media, customers, community, business, and advocacy groups. Liaises with the CEO, subsidiary executives, and Board Committees to advise on risk mitigation, opportunities, and strategic planning. Provides broad direction, coaching, development, and performance management for reporting leaders. Qualifications Education and Experience – Degree in business, public policy, communications or related discipline, plus 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a large, complex customer-driven environment. Expert knowledge of reputation management, internal and external communications, corporate marketing, public affairs, and customer experience programs. Expert skills in strategy development, strategic planning, and delivery pertaining to communications, marketing, public affairs, and customer engagement. Expert leadership skills with the ability to direct, coach, develop, and manage performance of reporting leaders and influence others at all levels across the enterprise. Expert interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to contribute at the Executive and Board levels, handling sensitive and high-profile challenges. Expert analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, diagnosing and recommending solutions for critical issues. Advanced business acumen to identify risks and leverage opportunities through communication and marketing solutions. Alignment to TransLink’s Executive Competencies. Work Details • 37.5 hours per week, hybrid work arrangement, flexible on-site and remote within B.C. • Salary range: $210,830 - $302,594 per annum, plus benefits including Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass, and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
