We operate with teams in 52 offices across 12 countries and work with Global 1000 leaders, enterprise and mid-market companies, and public sector organizations to improve operations, drive growth, and create value.Hybrid/In-office: We are hybrid, but there are expectations that if your team leader requires you onsite, you should be able to meet those expectations/requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and operationalize large-scale enterprise data and AI solutions using Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and more.Implement cloud-based data solutions for ingestion, transformation, and storage; and AI solutions for model development, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance.Develop and maintain architecture plans for data and AI solutions optimized for data processing and AI model training within Google Cloud.Provide technical leadership and guidance on Google Cloud best practices for data engineering (ETL pipelines, data pipelines) and AI engineering (model deployment, MLOps).Assess current data architectures and AI workflows, and develop strategies for modernization, migration, or enhancement within Google Cloud.Stay current with emerging Google Cloud data and AI technologies (e.g., BigQuery ML, AutoML, Vertex AI) and lead efforts to integrate new innovations into client solutions.Mentor and develop team members to enhance skills in Google Cloud data and AI technologies, including data pipeline optimization and AI/ML best practices.What you will bringProven experience as a Cloud Data and AI Engineer or similar role, with hands-on experience in Google Cloud tools and services (e.g., BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub).Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts (ETL, data warehousing, data modeling, data governance).Proficiency in AI engineering, including machine learning model training and MLOps pipelines using Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, and AutoML.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for large-scale data systems and AI model deployment.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, bridging data engineering and AI efforts.Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools in the context of Google Cloud data and AI projects.Ability to manage multiple Google Cloud data and AI engineering projects in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of security and compliance best practices for data and AI on Google Cloud.Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Database Engineer, Professional Machine Learning Engineer) or willingness to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.Benefits & PerksHybrid/in-office flexibility with onsite expectations when required by team lead.Culture & fun, lunch & learns, health & wellness activities, holiday parties, employee community groups, social clubs & activities.Vacation (20 days prorated based on start date) and wellness/sick days.Competitive compensation package, cell phone reimbursement, RRSP with employer matching, TFSA, Thrive Well-Being gift card, family planning/fertility benefit, maternity/ parental leave top-up, medical & dental benefits, life and AD&D insurance, and access to EAP & therapy services.All benefits subject to eligibility requirements.Slalom is an inclusive, equal opportunity employer dedicated to building a diverse workforce.
