Headquartered in Austria, with a U.S. sales and service subsidiary in Turlock, California, we are rapidly growing our presence across North America.To support our expansion, we are looking for aField Service Technician based in Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick, Canada to join our North American team.Your Start at Insort:Following a comprehensive training period on our machines and technologies, both in-house and at customer sites, you will play a key role in the commissioning, servicing, and support of our sensor-based sorting solutions.About the JOB:System Installation & Commissioning: Take the lead in installing and configuring Insort’s state-of-the-art sorting and inspection systems at customer sites across North America.Maintenance & Service Operation: Carry out scheduled maintenance, perform system upgrades and retrofits, and handle repairs to keep machines running at peak performance.Training & Customer Support: Deliver hands-on training for machine operators and maintenance personnel, offering ongoing technical support and guidance.Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and resolve mechanical, electronic, sensor, and software issues in collaboration with our internal engineering teams.Technical Reporting :Document all commissioning and service activities, including performance assessments and improvement suggestions.Feedback & Product Optimization: Share on-the-ground insights and provide structured feedback to help enhance product functionality and reliability.Remote Assistance: Support customers remotely when not traveling — including diagnostics, updates, and technical problem-solving.About YOU:Educational Background: A technical diploma or degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field is a plus.Industry Experience: Practical experience in mechanical or electrical systems, field service work, food processing, or optical sorting technologies is desirable.Technical Know-How: Confident in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and experienced in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems.IT & Connectivity Skills: Strong grasp of networked systems, remote diagnostics tools, and basic software troubleshooting.Communication & Training: Clear and confident communicator — both written and verbal — with a knack for explaining technical content to diverse audiences.Work Style: Self-motivated, organized, and solution-focused, with a drive for quality and continuous improvement.Team Spirit: Collaborates well across teams and disciplines; willing to share insights and learn from others.Travel Readiness: Open to traveling approximately 40–50% of the time within North America, with occasional training visits to our European HQ.Our OFFER:Innovative Environment: Join a fast-moving and future-oriented company driving transformation in the food industry.Sustainable High-Tech Solutions: Get involved with cutting-edge, sensor-based sorting systems that support food safety and sustainability.Thorough Onboarding & Learning: Benefit from in-depth training and a structured onboarding program, with ongoing learning opportunities.Career Advancement: We’re committed to your development — professionally and personally — with clear growth pathways.International Collaboration: Be part of a global team and gain exposure through international travel and cross-cultural collaboration.Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy attractive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, plus daily per diem while traveling.Additional Details:Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with flexible hours typically between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Overtime and occasional weekend work will be required, depending on the work schedule and service demand.Compensation: Competitive salary of $70,000–$80,000 per year (base salary) plus overtime.Remote work: This is a remote work position.
