Job Description

The Senior Business Information Management Specialist is a senior technical business lead that works on complex business information management initiatives for a key business/functional area that may have enterprise-wide scope. The ideal candidate has experience with commercial banking data, able to support data issues resolution, critical data element management, reference data, data lineage, data quality reporting, and data ownership. Additional expectations include assisting with the transition to the new Enterprise Data Management Operating Model for Data Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expert knowledge of the business and respective technical environment/tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organizational issues
  • Recognized as a top-level expert requiring significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their complex field
  • Requires strong development background and a blend of skills in big data technologies, database technologies, data integration tools, production support, and business acumen
  • Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives and business segment leaders
  • Anticipates emerging business trends and associated risks
  • Advises on execution strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives
  • Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact
  • Engages stakeholders to take action and serves as a source of expert advice
  • Provides leadership guidance and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meet needs
  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex requirements related issues
  • Analyzes, designs, and develops data repositories, warehouses, and marts
  • Supports Reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
  • May also be responsible for developing sophisticated data preparation frameworks
  • Supports data modeling capabilities
  • Develops data road maps and information management strategies
  • Drives data-centric solution development focusing on complex data integration
  • Elicits, solicits, analyzes, and understands data requirements
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 10+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background
  • Advanced knowledge of various data sources, tools, and technologies
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
  • Skill in mentoring, coaching, and performance management
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
  • Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function
Preferred Qualifications
  • Will consider 7+ years
  • Strong SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of RRDW, BLDM, USCRM beneficial
Accountabilities
  • Leads or provides expertise in defining and managing detailed system design for data integration processes
  • Provides leadership and expertise within this specialized field
  • Partners with technology to troubleshoot issues and manage capacity
  • Coordinates with project managers to establish project plans
