Your role within the team: Represent Electrical Design Engineering in the field during fabrication and construction. Provide electrical design support to the construction team in the field for the execution of system design packages. Perform engineering work following our client’s procedures and QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines to execute assigned engineering work. Prepare technical documents such as engineering drawings (including GAs, DDs, EDs), change‑paper markups, calculations, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, component specification sheets, commissioning specifications, etc. Participate in review of interfacing discipline’s documentation. Prepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for equipment and materials to support procurement. Interface and provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters. Prepare scope of work and input to bid proposals. Perform field walk‑downs during different design phases and prepare walk‑down reports as required. Lead field construction and execution activities such as field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, close‑out, etc. Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within budget and schedule, and in good quality. Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering‐related matters. Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an employer? The ideal candidate: Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or an equivalent degree recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Minimum 10 years of relevant design implementation/construction support experience (experience with green‑field construction and/or nuclear industry are assets). Experience with medium‑voltage and low‑voltage power distribution systems, including preparation of single‑line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams and schedules, and calculation of power demand/electrical load lists. Experience with transformer sizing, cable sizing, and circuit breaker sizing calculations. Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP or other similar software is an asset. Site experience in construction or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset. Working knowledge of construction work planning and field execution. Good working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I, and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC). Fundamental technical knowledge to resolve engineering issues or technical problems. Familiarity with specifying and procurement support for electrical equipment such as transformers, MCCs, low‑voltage distribution load centers, UPS systems including rectifiers and inverters and diesel generators (emergency and standby), power and control and instrumentation cables. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
