We are hiring two Health and Wellness Advisor in our Integrated Disability Management (IDM) team for our Calgary office. If you have strong communication and prioritization skills, we want to hear from youYou will be responsible for supporting employees and managing employee short-term disability (STD) and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims in a timely and efficient manner.Minimum RequirementsA Bachelor’s Degree in the medical or human sciences fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the medical or insurance fieldsTwo to five years of claims and / or disability management experience, specifically working with WCB claimsStrong knowledge of best practices in disability management and the relevant legislationExpert knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and proceduresBasic knowledge of STD plans and long-term disability contractsProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Cority software is considered an assetExceptional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsKey AccountabilitiesAdjudicate manage employee STD claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practicesManage workers’ compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements and Suncor’s case management process and practices, including conducting cost relief and appeals activitiesAssess employee fitness to work and communicate restrictions and limitations to the business areaIdentify and arrange suitable medical interventions to assist employees in their recoveryCollect information and collaborate with stakeholders to develop an appropriate transitional return to work plan to facilitate safe, timely, and sustainable return to workEducate and inform key stakeholders on the requirements of short-term, long-term, and WCB programs, including roles, responsibilities, expectations, and consequencesExercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use, and disclosure of personal health informationMaintain up-to-date and accurate electronic documentation and internal recordsLocation and other Key DetailsThis is an office-based role.
