We help generate and liberate structured healthcare data to ensure effective delivery across care teams and health systems bringing #BetterGlobalHealth to patients everyday Apply today and find plenty of reasons to SMILE The Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, automating, deploying and operating production‑grade services on a variety of cloud vendors and various infrastructure platforms for Smile Digital Health, its clients and partners. This position works with various teams to ensure that infrastructure needs are fulfilled for various teams and departments including but not limited to Information Services, Privacy & Security, Engineering, Product, Client Support and Delivery. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deliver complex and highly available cloud and platform solutions for internal and external projects. Develop recommendations and expertise as it relates to cloud and platform provisioning within the organization. Lead in cloud and infrastructure deployments and delivery by providing subject matter expertise on infrastructure‑related components. Develop and maintain infrastructure code for various solutions and provide support to clients or partners on Smile‑supported infrastructure codes. Maintain documentation, forms and processes to support Smile Digital Health business needs, including but not limited to technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans and root cause analyses. Participate in sprint, project and department planning for technology implementations and transformation. Contribute to tooling capability assessments, proof of concepts and technology roadmaps to ensure that the organization adheres to industry best practices. Identify performance and operational gaps in our current practices and develop action plans to address them. Provide Cloud and Infrastructure Subject matter expertise on pre‑sales and customer support calls. Keep abreast with technology changes to identify novel cloud and platform technologies to enhance operations, maintenance and security across the organization. Participate in on‑call rotation to provide application and infrastructure support, incident management and troubleshooting, as required. Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in NetSuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked (billable and non‑billable) and that the project management tool in NetSuite is properly and fully utilized. When applicable, tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability. Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies. Requirements 5+ years of experience in information technology, DevOps, infrastructure maintenance, system administration, cloud development, platform engineering and/or automation development. 4+ years supporting and developing templates and code for Kubernetes services, including HELM, Kustomize and Kubernetes manifest files. 5+ years of experience in a role supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, troubleshooting support escalations, and ensuring key KPIs. Demonstrate deep knowledge of a multitude of Cloud services with hands‑on experience building critical infrastructure from scratch. Experience with leading Cloud implementations and migrations from design to implementation. Experience mentoring Cloud team and providing Cloud expertise on configurations, deployments and Cloud limits. Proven experience with building, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting Kubernetes and serverless infrastructure. Must be able to build new clusters and have experience with migrating applications. Experience with scripting and programming languages including PowerShell, Python and Bash. Proven experience translating architecture and technical requirements to net new cloud infrastructure. Intermediate certifications in Cloud required, including associate level certifications in AWS, Azure and GCP. Professional level certifications preferred. Kubernetes related certifications including but not limited to CKA, CKD and CKS. Broad experience with a myriad of infrastructure core technologies including security, networking, database, data streaming, deployment automation and tooling, monitoring, logging, alerting and observability. Excellent communications and collaboration skills with the ability to work with and support clients.
