We are looking for a Director, Construction to oversee the construction of our future battery materials plant in Bécancour. br/>
YOUR MISSION

Our future battery materials plant in Bécancour will be a crucial link in the supply chain for next-generation battery materials with a focus on advanced and sustainable technologies. Reporting to the VP, Bécancour Project, the selected candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing the plant’s construction. Estimated at nearly $1 billion, the project is currently in the feasibility study phase and will advance to the construction phase over the next year.
Supervise the entire process to construct the battery materials plant up to the final delivery.Supervise and administer the construction management contract for the partner providing the construction team to coordinate the contractors and their subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed on budget, on time, and according to the expected quality standards.Ensure that everyone at the construction site lives up to NMG’s values.Develop and implement detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets and the required resources.Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that technical designs are effectively integrated into the construction process.Manage potential risks and issues related to the construction by implementing effective solutions and communicating regularly with stakeholders.Oversee the process to manage modifications and change requests while ensuring that these are documented and approved as per established procedures.
YOUR SKILLS PROFILE

University degree in engineering or a related field.Multiple years of significant experience in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in the heavy industrial or manufacturing sector.Strong leadership, project management and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and guide team members toward meeting goals.In-depth knowledge of construction standards, safety regulations, and environmental management practices.Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities at once.Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders in French and English.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project resources, budgets and schedules.
