About the Role

The Senior Estimator reports to the Estimate Manager and is responsible for all aspects of the estimate, assigned to the more complex and detailed tenders.

As a Senior Estimator at Graham, you will:

  1. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  2. Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects.
  3. Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.
  4. Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.
  5. Track awarded contracts as required (estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring materials, etc.).
  6. Supervise and coordinate estimate support staff on larger projects.
  7. Assist with organizing, coordinating, and training of estimating personnel.
  8. Explore Value Engineering for all applicable projects or situations.
  9. Complete post-bid analyses on jobs bid but not received. Track bidding success and percentages, and analyze fiscal period bid performance.
  10. Evaluate fee analysis and adjust by market conditions and past experience.
  11. May assist Estimate Manager in the coordination of overall corporate estimating functions, including systems development and staff training.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Engineering degree, certificate, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Must have experience working for a large General Contractor.
  • Ability to estimate Water/Wastewater types of projects and contracts is a must.
  • Strong concrete experience in Water/Wastewater.
