Job Description:

Assists clients with physical and/or cognitive disabilities in maximizing potential quality of life by providing assessments, treatments and consultations. Directs, guides and evaluates Occupational Therapy students.

Education Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training BLS for Healthcare Provider (Level C) - Heart and Stroke Competencies Advanced - Conflict resolution skills Intermediate - Computer skills Intermediate - Organizational skills Intermediate - Time management skills Advanced - Communication skills to transfer knowledge/skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Basic - Public speaking skills Advanced - Problem solving skills Advanced - Communication skills including ability to provide educational presentations Knowledge and Abilities Can maintain confidentiality including confidential information with discretion. Ability to work collegially, collaboratively and build positive relationships Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs Ability to work with people with professionalism and respect Ability to assist and develop policies and procedures according to best practice Able to conduct a mental health assessment & obtain info from caregiver & family Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
