Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We acknowledge that the Durham Region forms a part of the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples and the treaty territory of the Chippewas of Georgina Island. It is on these ancestral and treaty lands that we teach, live and learn. This statement was co‑created in partnership with the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students. Qualifications And Additional Information Required subject qualifications: Junior FTE: 0.6 Grade(s)/assignment: Junior Homeroom Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing Please Note External hires can take up to 10 working days to be processed which could affect the start date for this position Additional Requirements Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
