The Specialist, Quality Control is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards, focusing on pharmacovigilance, regulatory adherence, and customer satisfaction. This role provides strategic oversight and operational execution of quality assurance activities, including database management, medical device licensing, customer complaint resolution, and product compliance with Health Canada and related regulatory bodies. The Lead will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to drive quality improvements, mitigate risks, and enhance quality accountability. What You Are Looking For A total rewards package meant to enhance your work-life flexibility Fully utilizing your talent Professional growth and development via challenging projects and assignments Warm and fuzzy feelings knowing you have helped your community, your team, the business and social causes through the Rexall Care Network What You’ll Be Doing Pharmacovigilance & Related Support Lead pharmacovigilance audits in collaboration with store operations, pharmacy teams, vendor partners, and IT to identify improvement opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage the collection, review, and communication of all adverse events (AEs) and adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported for Rexall‑branded products. Oversee reconciliation processes with vendors and report suspected AE/ADRs for Option+ branded products to McKesson. Database Management Maintain and manage databases related to AE/ADR reconciliations, pharmacovigilance agreements, medical device licenses (MDL), and historical QA‑related statistics. Medical Device Licensing Ensure compliance with Health Canada requirements for medical device licenses, including renewals, communications, and regulatory reporting. Provide support for customer service inquiries, withdrawals, and recall activities related to medical devices. Customer Service, Withdrawals, and Recall Support Triage and communicate product quality complaints, recalls, and quality holds, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Lead the customer complaint process in collaboration with Customer Service, vendors, and customers, drafting communications and supporting store operations during withdrawals or recalls. Partner with store operations to implement and execute recall‑related store actions and provide guidance on quality and recall issues. Regulatory Compliance Conduct regulatory reviews to ensure products meet Health Canada requirements. Prepare monthly summaries on regulatory and quality assurance initiatives. Submit annual privacy reporting to the Information and Privacy Commissioner. Support with Ontario Pharmacy License Renewals, including providing stores with updated renewal requirements, tracking completion and ensuring payment is received. Misc. Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group. Knowledge, Skills And Experience Education: University degree in Science or a related field; QA certification preferred. Experience: Minimum of two years in quality assurance management, preferably in a community pharmacy setting. Knowledge: Understanding of Health Canada, and pharmacy regulations. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities. Risk identification and assessment expertise. Collaborative problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). At Rexall, we are better together.
