This is a newly created role. This position will report directly to the President. The client is within the wholesale building materials industry and has been established for 60 plus years. As the Procurement Manager you will lead a team of two individuals and be the go-to person for a variety of other employees as the knowledge expert. This is an opportunity for someone who can wear multiple hats, think strategically, inspire and mentor other team members, operate in a fast-paced environment with a critical and analytical business mindset.ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee the Company’s purchasing functions including the supervision of all procurement activities, processes, and proceduresAnalyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine selling pricesAnalyze and review trade policies, and other trade-related information to determine impact on import / export initiativesEstablish and implement purchasing standards, controls, policies, and proceduresImplement best practices in purchasing and supplier managementDevelop and maintain a vendor base to create and sustain a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitationProduct Knowledge and DevelopmentStrategy SupportEstablish and maintain measurable performance metricsMaintain and review requisitions and records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product, performance, and inventoriesWork closely with various departments to drive product design, development, marketing, and launch processesQualificationsSupply Chain Designation (preferred)7 plus years experience in materials / purchasing or supply chain managementProgressive experience in materials / purchasing or supply chain management and proven leadership abilitiesPrevious experience in a similar industry highly advantageousWhat is in it for you?The opportunity to lead, guide and mentor a team, to work cross functionally across many departments, to drive the growing company.
