Engineer in Training (EIT) – Transmission Lines ENTRUST Solutions Group About Us ENTRUST Solutions Group is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina. We provide design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry, focusing on transmission, substation, and distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4,160 V to 500 kV. Opportunity We are currently seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer in training or a Design Technologist to join our team in Calgary. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will receive guidance, hands‑on training, and challenges in all aspects of the engineering and design process. Hybrid Work Environment – 4 days a week in office in Calgary or Regina, 1 day a week from home. Responsibilities Develop new designs by applying knowledge of utility electrical systems and their operation Review designs against applicable industry codes and standards as well as internal MHV standards Apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop complete and competent designs Complete engineering calculations for transmission and distribution lines Use a variety of tools and software in design such as PLS‑CADD, ETAP, CDEGS, etc. Prepare estimates, material take‑offs, scopes of work, survey packages and design packages Assist in the preparation of engineering reports Prepare design packages for construction Conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the project design phase and field inspections during the project construction phase Qualifications Technical college diploma (Electrical) or a university degree in Electrical Engineering Ability to work in design teams and take the initiative to learn the position Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite and CAD drafting tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD Previous design experience with substation, transmission or distribution lines Previous experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, CDEGS or PLS‑CADD software Benefits Generous paid time off and benefits 401(k) retirement program with a company match Career development programs Tuition reimbursement Flexible work schedule To learn more about ENTRUST benefits and culture, visit our company LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/entrustsolutionsgroup ENTRUST Solutions Group is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
