Position Overview:

Uniserve is seeking a highly motivated Junior Developer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will primarily focus on developing, managing, and optimizing our in-house applications, databases, and website. The ideal candidate will be highly focused and enjoy solving complex and layered technical problems. They will be a team player ensuring a high level of communication and collaboration. Ultimately, their changes will help drive the productivity, stability, and efficiency of other departments.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Working with the finance team to improve the internal billing process between our accounting software, CRM, and various in-house applications.
  2. Monitoring, managing, and developing Uniserve's current Wordpress site.
  3. Monitoring and improving internal logging on in-house applications and software.
  4. Communicating and escalating internally when internal breaking errors occur.
  5. Engaging in the change management process to ensure potentially breaking changes have required visibility.
  6. Identifying and fixing any potential exploits and vulnerabilities with relevant software.
  7. Assisting in managing and maintaining our internal code base.
  8. Collaborating with other teams as required for client-facing projects.
  9. Writing and maintaining appropriate documentation and change logs.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Strong understanding of HTML and PHP languages.
  2. Solid understanding of Shell Scripting.
  3. Solid understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL databases.
  4. Solid understanding and prior experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, etc.).
  5. Solid understanding and prior experience with Wordpress.
  6. Basic working knowledge of Perl language.
  7. Basic technical aptitude and fundamental understanding of information technology.
  8. Must be fluent in English, both verbally and written.
  9. Excellent communication skills.
  10. Ability to solve technical issues with courtesy and professionalism.
  11. Experience in a managed services company or internet services provider is an asset.
  12. Experience with Connectwise Manage CRM is an asset.
