Key Responsibilities In collaboration with the Directors, Community Living Supports, the Director, Community Living Operations ensures that all supports comply with all legislative requirements, meet and promote health and safety standards, and adhere to current agency policies and procedures. Overall responsibility for financial co‑ordination for all support areas, by assisting the Directors, Community Living Supports in the development and management of budgets and effective use of all agency resources, including property and other assets. Address significant budget discrepancies with Directors, Community Living Supports and bring issues to the Executive Director. Provide support and direction to the Directors, Community Living Supports in areas related to Managers, Community Living Supports, including hiring, training and development, supervision, employee issues, discipline and terminations. Responsible for hiring process, orientation, supervision and performance reviews of directors of supports and services and managers of supports, including ongoing coaching and feedback, regular performance appraisals, setting developmental plans using core competencies and performance objectives. Act as a resource and support to directors in areas related to the development of support services, and all complex concerns and issues. Ensure that any issues identified regarding the provision of quality support services, individual/family issues, concerns are addressed in a prompt and effective manner. Responsible for direction and support to the Manager, Quality Assurance, including oversight of the agency’s accreditation process. Provide leadership in and ensure adherence to agency health and safety policies, including overseeing incident investigation and management. Represent the agency and/or the Executive Director on community committees and acts as a liaison with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and other government or public offices, as required. Be an effective team member of Senior Management, including but not limited to the following responsibilities, policy administration, public and community relations, personnel/supervision, financial control and overall leadership. As a member of senior management, act as a resource to the Board of Directors, the agency’s membership, other community organizations and the community at large, including attendance at meetings, preparation of information reports, and development of policies, as requested. Responsible for role modeling core competencies as related to the role of a director and continual self‑development on the competencies for the Executive Director. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Community Living Essex County may accept a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills of the position. Graduation from a post‑secondary institution, with a minimum three (3) year degree/diploma in a human service field of study or equivalent and achievement of an Agency Management Education Program. A minimum of ten (10) years experience working with people with a developmental disability and/or in a related human service field. Minimum of seven (7) years management experience. First Aid/CPR certification, Class G drivers license and access to an automobile. Other training, including Pharmacology, Crisis Intervention, leadership skills, and technology proficiency will be considered assets. Solid proficiency in MS Office, Suite, Excel, specialized databases and accounting software. Service‑oriented with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective people management and leadership abilities.
