Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Academic, Innovation and Student Affairs division, and reporting to the Academic Chair of Arts and Community Services, the In-Community Indigenous Support Coordinator (Counsellor I) will provide students with culturally responsive support and coaching services for the in-community Social Services Community Worker (NBCC) Program. Moreover, the Support Coordinator will jointly liaise with the Neqotkuk Child and Family Services Steering Committee.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work closely with the NBCC Academic Chair, School of Arts and Community, Instructor, and the Neqotkuk Child and Family Services Steering committee to support the program.Work closely with Neqotkuk SSCW Steering Committee to plan and respond to needs of students, instructors, facility etc.Organize regular meetings with the Steering Committee to provide updates, concerns, progress, etc., setting the agenda and other meeting logistics.Ensure the Wolastoqey perspective and voice in the program planning process.Create strong relationships with students and faculty to establish a safe, productive learning environment.Collaborate with NBCC Student Services to best support student success.Help students to keep up to date with assignments.Attend classes and support the instructor and students, when needed.Proactively refer students to the appropriate student support services based on their individual needs.A culture that is focused on nurturing a sense of belonging for all employees.Become a member of the New Brunswick Public Service Pension Plan.Opportunities for professional development and training.NBCC supports the wellbeing of its employees.
