ALTEN CANADA is currently seeking a Program Manager / Supervisor, specializing in Paint Process Engineering to join our team
Key Responsibilities: Manage a team of Process Specialists / Engineers, with overall responsibility of supervising the paint process engineering activities for new vehicle program launches. Monitor and control budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. Supervise tooling, process development, and application methods within the paint department. Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies and policies to facilitate meeting or exceeding quality /efficiency goals. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards, including Environmental Health and Safety, Materials and Corrosion and Manufacturing / Production teams. Ensure the engineering team is working closely with the skilled trades and production team members to improve performance and quality processes in the paint department Represent paint operations in various forums such as IH Reviews as well as Plant Launch Meetings. Support paint operations in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and World Class Technology (WCT) initiatives, including, workplace organization, logistics and focused problem solving.
Key Qualifications: Proven experience in paint process engineering in the automotive sector. Minimum 2+ years of experience in a project / program management role. Experience managing the implementation of new paint technologies and process improvements initiatives. Prior experience utilizing 4WET technique would be considered an asset. Experience with automation, particularly prior knowledge and experience working with robots from Fanuc. Excellent communication skills as the role holder will have to interact with the overall launch team of the plant.
